red rock at it again
just a quickie update: i received an email and some tweets and posts about their next pairing dinner. if you don’t remember, i had a phenomenal dinner where their chef andee certainly impressed me with her delicious imagination on a plate. it’s set for wednesday, april 20th—6:30pm at the red rock junction location. maybe i’ll … Read more
one, two buckaroo
(title has no relation to content whatsoever. yep.) yet another LONG time since my last post, but it’s been nutty busy. i’ve been taking on all kinds of projects that i hope to be able to post about soon, but you’ll probably get another lull after this update. first off, two new gig posters to … Read more
some sounds for your head holes
i’m not entirely sure why and how it took me this long to stumble across this, but the hype machine has been my latest insight to new music (besides researching the bands coming into the state room, of course). but holy crap, it’s the best idea ever. a music blog aggregate site? hell yes. thank … Read more
justin townes earle: follow up
with a little more than two weeks to go until his show, i’m barely getting the poster to the state room. my apologies, as things have been damn busy with sundance and many other things going on, but i do hope you will enjoy. i’m quite happy with it. february 17th, the state room. be … Read more
sundance 2011
amazing how quickly sundance came and went. here’s the films i saw… knuckle incredibly raw, this documentary unveils what seems to be family feuds passed down from generation to generation. director ian palmer tails the quinn mcdonaghs for twelve years as james, the seemingly quiet and confident leader, as he partakes in fights provoked by … Read more
justin townes earle
i’ve been looking forward to not being so busy and working on this gig poster. justin townes earle is probably the most unique person i’ve seen in my gig poster band research. i’m diggin his country, bluesy and soulful sound with a personal fashion style that can’t be categorized—in a good way. on top of that, … Read more
chocolate: it’s good for the soul
in the recent month i’ve become rather enlightened to chocolate…well, fine chocolate rather (thanks to my kick ass specialty buyer at work—yes, you kick ass andy). again, this is another realm to discover since my life experience of chocolate is totaled to hersheys, nestle, ghirardelli, see’s, godiva and the curious bars that are uber high … Read more

ok, ok. so i’ve been behind. who hasn’t? so, here goes, my time to catch you up on me. like most people, i was heavily consumed with the holidays. if you’ve ever worked in retail during the holidays, you know what i’m talking about. nothing to bring holiday cheer to my days with pissed off … Read more
north coast: old rasputin imperial stout
yum. yum. yum. aside from this creepy man being on the label—which makes it awesome, i think—this is one hell of a beer. good bite and a heavy, big flavor with a smooth finish. i cracked this baby open while cooking last night and just had to share. good use of black and gold.
the civil wars: follow up
took me long enough, right? holidays in retail call for a stupid busy schedule, so it took me longer to complete this baby—thankfully i chose a show that was far enough away to still have this done a month out from the show. anyways, i hope you can enjoy the final product. hope to see … Read more
